Watertown Police Log: Shoplifter Also Had Drugs, Man Found Lying in Street

Arrests


Sept. 9, 2:04 a.m.: An officer patrolling spotted a car with its interior light on sitting on Cross Street, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The officer discovered the driver had a warrant. Lee W. Lynch, 45, of 731 Washington St. in Newton, was arrested on a warrant from Somerville District Court for traffic offenses.

Sept. 9, 11:36 a.m.: A shoplifting suspect ran out of Target and security caught him on the bike path behind the Watertown Mall, Lawn said. He had allegedly taken a portable hard drive, a DVD and a pair of iBeats headphones. Matthew J. Conti, 32, of 240 Albany St. in Cambridge, was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.

Sept. 9, 4:08 p.m.: A shoplifter tried to take two watches by putting one on his wrist an one in his pocket and attempted to leave the store, Lawn said. Dimitrios Loulourgas, 47, of 81 Waverly St. in Brighton, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise - a second offense.

Sept. 10, 6:25 p.m.: Police arrested Rodrigo Rodriguez-Carreon, 44, of 219 Pleasant St. in Watertown, on a charge of assault and battery, Lawn said.

Sept. 11, 3:32 a.m.: Police arrested Gaelen Larkins-Ford, 27, of 35 Bennett Road in Watertown, on a warrant out of Cambridge District Court for assault and battery, Lawn said. 

Sept. 12, 11:52 a.m.: Police arrested Shant Ghazarian, 27, of 528 Mt. Auburn St. in Watertown, on charges of domestic assault and battery, Lawn said.

Sept. 12, 9:56 p.m.: Police got a report of a person down in the street on Warren Street, Lawn said. An officer found the person, who seemed to be intoxicated, and found he had a warrant. Francis D. Mahoney, 52, of 1 Hilltop Road in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant from Waltham District Court for possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug.

Sept. 13, 7:41 a.m.: Police arrested David M. Cunningham, 51, of 9 Violet Ave. in Dedham, on a charge of domestic assault and battery, and on two warrants - one from Stoughton District Court for traffic offenses and one from Wrentham District Court for driving under the influence of alcohol, Lawn said.

Sept. 13, 11:34 a.m.: Target security recognized a man from past incidents at the store and spotted him take an Xbox 360 hard drive off the shelf, take it out of the package and put it in his pocket, Lawn said. Police also found seven bags of crack cocaine in his pocket. Detontre M. Bell, 19, of 64 Highland St. in Roxbury, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting and possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug.


Incidents

Sept. 9, 6:55 a.m.: A Riverside Street resident discovered someone took a Garmin GPS device from an unlocked car parked in the driveway, Lawn said.

Sept. 9, 8:30 a.m.: A small CD case was taken from an unlocked car on Riverside Street the previous night.

Sept. 9, 8:56 a.m.: While an officer was investigating another incident on Riverside Street, a resident reported that a small CD case and loose change were taken from an unlocked vehicle sometime overnight.

Sept. 9, 9:05 a.m.: A GPS unit was taken from an unlocked car on Riverside Street.

Sept. 9, 7:42 p.m.: A Charles River Road resident reported someone entered a vehicle and took a GPS device and a phone charger.

Sept. 11, 5:11 p.m.: Twenty-eight scrap batteries were taken from Atlantic Battery Company. They were worth a $615.

Sept. 15, 8:19 a.m.: A car on Rutland Road was ransacked and loose change was taken. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

Sept. 15, 5:35 p.m.: A Rutland Road resident reported that a vehicle had been broken into and loose change was taken.
