Watertown Police Log: May 7 to May 13

Man keeps woman in apartment against her will and former Victoria's Secret employee steals undergarments and gift cards.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

May 9, 9:38 p.m.: Police were called to Mt. Auburn Street for a domestic disturbance, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. A man reportedly assaulted a woman who protection order against him, and held her against her will in her apartment. Dean E. Kenny, 47, of 805 Mt. Auburn St. in Watertown, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, intimidating a witness, kidnapping, violating an assault prevention order, threatening to commit a crime and he had a warrant from Concord District Court for assault and battery.

May 10, 2:50 a.m.: Police were called to Mt. Auburn Street for a domestic disturbance, Lawn said. Loretta McClary, 30, of 438 Main St. in Waltham, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

May 11, 12:45 p.m.: A woman was spotted taking 6 DVDs and putting them in a Target bag, and then returned them for cash at the customer service desk, Lawn said. She was detained and had $118.95 on her from the returns. Galina Balyasina, 66, of 28 Wallingford Road Apt 2802 in Boston, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise worth more than $100 by concealment.

May 12, 7:52 p.m.: Police went to Marshall’s after a woman was detained for taking several items and putting them in a large tote bag before trying to leave without paying, Lawn said. The items were worth a total of $127.91. Julia Keating, 18, of 14 Wildwood Dr. in Bedford, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by concealment.

May 13, 1:31 a.m.: Police were called to Bridge Street for a report of a domestic disturbance, Lawn said. Michael P. Murphy, 23, of 33 Crescent St in Newton, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

 

Incidents

May 8, 8:04 a.m.: The back window of a 1994 Mercedes was smashed on Phillips Street, Lawn said.

May 8, 10:49 a.m.: Sometime between May 5 and May 8, someone stole $250 cash from the cash register at , Lawn said. There were no signs of forced entry. Police are investigating.

May 8, 1:23 p.m.: The owner of a 2000 Dodge Caravan discovered that the passenger side window was smashed while it was parked Bellevue Road, Lawn said. Nothing was taken.

May 8, 2:31 p.m.: The manager of reported that sometime the previous evening, somebody stole several undergarments and fragrances from a display, worth $660, Lawn said.

May 9, 6:25 p.m.: security called police after a woman took two bottles of lotion worth $38.99 from a display and put them in a bag before leaving the store, Lawn said. She was stopped across the street at the Watertown Mall. A summons from Waltham District Court was issued for a 67-year-old woman from Dorchester for shoplifting.

May 10, 7:30 a.m.: Someone broke into a 1996 Saturn on Hovey Stret, and rummaged through the car, but nothing appeared to be missing, Lawn said.

May 10, 5:17 p.m.: The back wall of was tagged with spray paint, Lawn said.

May 10, 5:57 p.m.: A employee put her wallet down when she was trying to get something off a shelf in the storage area of the store, and when she was done the wallet was gone, Lawn said. The wallet contained credit cards, driver’s license and other IDs.

May 11, 5:05 p.m.: Security at Victoria’s Secret discovered a former employee took 12 pairs of underwear, a lipstick, six bras, 17 $10 reward cards, a $50 reward card, worth more than $650, Lawn said. A 20-year-old woman from Roxbury will be summonsed into Waltham District Court.

May 12, 5:12 p.m.: The manager of was alerted to three women stealing perfume, so she confronted them, Lawn said. The women began yelling and screaming at the manager and then fled the mall, taking two bottles worth $26.50 each.

May 13, 1:14 p.m.: The windshield of a 2008 Toyota Corolla was smashed while it was parked on Bradshaw Street, Lawn said.
