Watertown Woman Faces OUI Charge After Hit and Run Accident

The woman allegedly struck two vehicles and left in a car with heavy damage.

A Watertown woman faces drunken driving charges after she allegedly struck two cars and then leaving the scene in a car with only three wheels, according to Watertown Police.

A hit and run accident was reported to police on Mt. Auburn Street at Walnut Street on Jan. 20 at 4:59 p.m., said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

"A 2003 Chevy struck two motor vehicles at the intersection and fled the scene," Lawn said. "The car had major damage, and was missing the front driver's-side wheel."

A witness followed the car to Walnut Street, and police responded and placed the driver under arrest.

Stacey A. Haggerty, 47, of 36 Robert Ford Road in Watertown, was arrested on one count of of driving under the influence of alcohol and two counts of leaving the scene of property damage, Lawn said.
