Watertown Woman Groped by Man While on Her Way Home from the Bus Stop

A man followed her from the 73 bus stop on Belmont Street and assaulted in front of her Mt. Auburn Street home.

A woman on the way home from the bus stop was groped by a man as she walked up the path to her home on Mt. Auburn Street on Oct. 19.

The woman told police she got off the 73 bus at 33 Belmont Street at about 8 p.m., and as she walked down St. Mary's Street she sensed someone was following her, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

"When she got to her residence and began to walk up the path a male came up behind her and grabbed her on the buttocks," Lawn said. "Then he took off down Francis Street toward Belmont Street."
