Last Chance: Friday is Last Day to Register to Dispose of Household Hazardous Products

The Health Department is open until 4 p.m. this Friday to apply for this free service.

Last Chance is a new feature that will provide you with upcoming deadlines that you may want to know about.

Residents of Watertown can help protect the environment by taking common household hazardous products – ranging from cleaners and photography chemicals to paints, fuels and certain devices – to the Minuteman Hazardous Products Regional Facility on Hartwell Avenue in Lexington free of charge.

The next hazardous waste disposal day is Saturday, April 21.

But Watertown residents must pre-register by Friday, April 20, with the Watertown Health Department beforehand or they will be required to pay a fee – $35 to $60 – at the facility.

The Watertown Health Department, located in Town Hall, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Its phone number is 617-972-6446.
