Smart move on Lynch's part. He'll attract conservative unenrolled voters who will ignore the Republican Primary which will more than likely go uncontested. If he prevails against Markey, he'll keep a lot of the Reagan Democrats home in a run against Brown. Assuming Scott runs for Senate again. Lynch would also attract pro-life Republicans in a general election, even though he's only pro-life on paper. His congressional district tends to be pro-life. It's the one district in MA where it's actually difficult to get elected being openly pro-choice.
