Watertown residents know this is a great place to live, and now the real estate blog Movoto has listed the town in the top 10 places to live in Massachusetts.

Marshfield wound up on top of the list, and Watertown made the fourth spot. The rankings are based on criteria including:

  • Cost of living

  • High school graduation rate
  • Median household income
  • Median home value
  • Amenities per capita (seafood restaurants, sports bars, Dunkin Donuts, museums)
  • Amenities total (seafood restaurants, sports bars, Dunkin Donuts and museums)
  • The year the city was established (the earlier the better)
The town scored high on the number of museums in the city limits - five - and the fact that it is one of the oldest towns in the state, being founded in 1630.

Home values are also good, with the median home valued at $431,600, compared to the state's median home value of $369,302.
