Watertown Children's Theatre Hosts Program for Home Schooled Students

"Time Travels in Theatre" covers theater from around the world and through history.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Children's Theatre:

Watertown Children’s Theatre invites homeschooling families to explore our new Homeschool Program, Time Travels in Theatre.

Open to homeschool students in grades 3-7, this new program invites participants to journey through time and around the globe to the many stages of the world. Students will study the history and social impact of theatre from Ancient Greece, to medieval Europe, to contemporary America, using theatre games, exercises, and playwriting activities.

Mary House, the Time Travels teacher says, “This class will be a hands on opportunity to experience theatre history outside the dryness of a textbook. It will be a chance to experience theatre the way it was meant to be experienced: Out loud, actively and creatively.”

This program runs on Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon, beginning Sept. 27, and culminates with a final showcase for family and friends. For more information, or to register, visit www.watertownchildrenstheatre.org or call 617-926-ARTS.
