Watertown Middle School Raises $28,000 for Cancer Research

The school's annual Pennies for Patients drive raised money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Over a three week period, students and staff at Watertown Middle School raised more than $28,000 to go toward cancer research.

The middle school will donate the money to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, according to Watertown Splash, the middle school's newspaper.

Last year the school raised nearly $29,000, and for seventh year in a row, Watertown Middle School raised the most money in the Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire. The money raised was also the fifth highest out of 32,000 school across the country.
