Boston Cannons Lacrosse Team Putting on Clinic in Watertown

The team's coach and players will put on a lacrosse clinic at Victory Field.

The following release was sent out by Watertown Youth Lacrosse:

Steve Duffy, head coach of the Major League Lacrosse World Champion Boston Cannons, along with several Cannons players, will join Watertown High head coach Chris Burns for a four day lacrosse clinic at Watertown's new Victory Field.

Key returning stars like Jake Beebe, Kevin Buchanan, Jon Hayes, Mike Stone, and Ethan Vedder are scheduled to make appearances at the First Annual TUFF clinic - The Ultimate Fitness and Fundamentals lax clinic. The clinic will take place Monday through Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and is exclusively for Watertown High boys lacrosse players, Watertown Youth Lacrosse boys U15 players, as well as players and coaches from Waltham and Dedham High Schools.

Duffy was named the fourth head coach in Cannons history on November 30, 2011. The 2012 season will be his first as head coach and fourth overall year with the organization. He also spent 18 years as the head coach of Waltham High School’s varsity boy’s lacrosse program. During his tenure, he coached four High School All-Americans and several of his players went on to play at the collegiate level.

Burns is in his third year at Watertown High, after a successful coaching and playing career at Billerica High. Last year, he led the Raiders program through its first varsity season, which included a trip to the Division 3 State Tournament. Both coaches also have strong ties to the youth programs in Watertown and Waltham. Specators are encouraged to attend. Admission is free.
