Watertown and Stoneham Battled in a Close Game - See Who Won

The Raiders took on a Middlesex League foe at Victory Field.

A strong second quarter provided all the scoring Watertown needed to beat Stoneham on Friday night, but just barely.

Stoneham jumped out to an 8-0 first quarter lead at Victory Field. Then the Raiders scored on a 1-yard run by Mike Petrillo and a 42-yard pass from Nick Giordano to Matt Gonnell. The extra point was no good on the second touchdown.

Santino Fierimonte hit a 33-yard field goal to put Watertown up 16-8 at halftime.

Stoneham scored a fourth quarter touchdown, but the Raiders stopped the two-point conversion attempt.

Watertown improved to 3-0 and travels to Wakefield for a game Friday at 7 p.m.
