Watertown Boys Soccer Looks to Make Another State Tourney Run

The Raiders got the No. 2 seed in the Div. 3 North Section tourney. WHS's girls team also made the bracket.

Last year, Watertown's boys soccer team went on a heart-stopping run to the state final, where they Raiders Cinderella story finally ended. This year, they will not likely take people by surprise after earning the second seed in the MIAA Div. 3 North tournament.

Watertown finished the regular season with a 14-2-2 record and will host a quarterfinal game on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. at Victory Field. The Raiders will take on the winner of the Pentucket-Triton matchup.

During the Raiders 2012 run, the team won twice in games decided by penalty shootouts and once in overtime.

The Watertown girls will also be playing in the tournament The Raiders finished 4-11-3 but made the tournament for having a winning record against Div. 3 opponents. Watertown travels to play Hamilton-Wenham in a Div. 3 North Section first round game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
