Watertown Field Hockey Coach Eileen Donahue Wins National Honor

The National High School Coaches Association named Donahue the coach of the year.

Winning has become a tradition for Eileen Donahue's  Watertown High School field hockey and now the coach has a win of her own.

The National High School Coaches Association named Donahue the National Field Hockey Coach of the Year for 2013.

Under Donahue, Watertown has won 13 state championships, and currently is on a 102-game unbeaten streak - the longest in Massachusetts history and third longest in the nation.

She has coached Watertown for 27 years, and during that time her teams have only lost 30 games. Watertown finished a perfect 23-0 in 2012 and won the MIAA Div. 2 state title, and the team is 11-0 this season. 

She earned her 500th victory in 2011. Donahue’s lifetime record, as of Oct. 10, is 539-30-45.
