Watertown Football Comeback Ends up Short Against Pentucket

The Raiders' playoff run ended, but the team still has two more home games.

Watertown came back to win in the first round of the Div. 4 North Section playoffs and fell behind in the semifinal at Pentucket, but the comeback fell short this time.

Pentucket scored the first two touchdowns to take a 14-0 lead. Watertown got within seven points at halftime after a five-yard pass from Nick Giordano to TJ Hairston, according to the Boston Globe report.

The Sachems increased their lead to 14 in the third quarter, but Watertown struck again with a Mike Petrillo five-yard touchdown run. The extra point was no good.

The Raiders held Pentucket, the top seed in the section, out of the endzone for the rest of the game, but gave up a safety in the fourth quarter. The game ended 23-13 Pentucket.

While Watertown's playoff run is over, the season moves on. The Raiders will host Lynnfield this weekend, and will also take on Belmont on Thanksgiving at Victory Field.
