Watertown Football Continues to Roll

The Raiders traveled to Wakefield for a key league contest.

The Raiders took their unbeaten season on the road and pulled out a 17-14 victory over Wakefield on Friday night.

The teams put up a combined three touchdowns in the second quarter, according to the Boston Globe report. A 78-yard punt return for a touchdown by Matt Gonnell and a 10 yard touchdown pass from Nick Giordano to TJ Hairston gave Watertown took a 14-7 halftime lead.

Wakefield tied it up in the fourth quarter, but Watertown kicker Santino Fierimonte booted a 20 yard field goal for the winning score.

Watertown is now 4-0, and 2-0 in the Middlesex League Freedom Division. On Friday the Raiders travel to face Melrose at 7 p.m.
