Watertown Girls' Basketball Squad Hands Woburn Its First Loss
Freshman center Shannon Murphy led Watertown to the Middlesex League victory.
Woburn came into Friday's game at Watertown undefeated, but the Raiders send the Tanners home unhappy.
Watertown (11-1) was led by freshman center Shannon Murphy, who scored 10 points in the Raider's 42-31 victory, according to a report in the Boston Herald. She also hauled in 11 rebounds, dished five assists, had four steals and blocked two shots.
Senior guard Gabby Coppola added seven points and four steals.
The Tanners (11-1) led 6-3 in the first quarter, but Watertown used a six point run to end the quarter with a 9-3 lead. They never trailed again.
