Watertown Girls Hockey Team Hosts Tourney Game, Boys Hit the Road

The Raiders have two teams in the ice hockey state tournament.

Two Watertown High School hockey squads made the MIAA state tournament, with the girls hosting their first round game and the boys heading out on the road.

The girls' team received the 14th seed in the MIAA North Section Div. 1 tournament and the team hosts Arlington today at 5 p.m. at the Ryan Skating Arena.

The Raiders finished the regular season with a record of 13-7-2, while No. 19 seed Arlington has a record of 11-8-1. Arlington, which is also in the Middlesex League, won the regular season game between the two teams, 3-1.

Watertown's boys' hockey squad heads to Tewksbury for the first round game in the MIAA Div. 2 North section tourney. The game will be played Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Stoneham Arena.

After finishing with a record of 9-9-2, Watertown got the 13th seed. Tewksbury got the fourth seed with a record of 14-3-1.
