Watertown High School Soccer Teams Celebrate Successful Seasons

The Raiders boys' and girls' soccer squads held a banquet this weekend following seasons which saw both make the state tournament.

Watertown High School's soccer teams enjoyed much success during the 2012 soccer season, including state tournament berths for both the boys' and girls' teams, and a historic tourney run for the boys.

On Sunday, the players and coaches celebrated with a team banquet at the Sons of Italy Hall in Watertown. 

The boys' team made the state final for the first time, falling to Sutton in Worcester.

For their play in the Middlesex League and in the state tournament, the boys team and coaches picked up many awards. On Sunday, the boys' team also handed out the most valuable player awards.

The Raiders girls' team also made the state tournament. They lost to Ipswich in the first round, a team that made it all the way to the North Section final.
