Watertown's Erika Kelly Named Globe's Field Hockey Player of the Year

Boston Globe also named Watertown's Bianca Jones to All-Scholastic team. Jessica Doggett named to Boston Herald's All-Scholastic team.

The Boston Globe honored Watertown High School junior forward Erika Kelly with the Div. 2 field hockey player of the year award.

Kelly had 23 goals and 21 assists, according to the Globe, and helped lead the Raiders to the second straight MIAA Div. 2 state championship.

The newpaper also named senior midfielder Bianca Jones to the All-Scholastic team. Jones scored 21 goals and 16 assists, according to the Globe, and she plans to attend UMass-Lowell.

Three Raiders to were named to the Boston Herald's All-Scholastic team. Along with Kelly and Jones, senior midfielder Jessica Doggett, received the honor. She plans to go to Fairfield University, according to the Herald.

Several Raiders were named to the Globe's Middlesex League All-League team: Katie Carlson, Doggett, Jones, Kelly, Kaylee McNamara and Lauren Sutherland.

In addtion to the field hockey team, several Watertown High School athletes made the Globe's Middlesex League All-League teams:

  • Football: C.J. Logan and Brendan Wojtowicz
  • Boy's soccer: James Holland
  • Girl's cross country: Waleska Alves
  • Boy's golf: Tyler Bartley and Dan Kelly
