Watertown's Kelly Earns Player of the Week Honor After Scoring Explosion

The Norteast-10 Conference gave Erika Kelly the honor after she went on a scoring spree for Stonehill College.

A seven-goal scoring spree earned Watertown's Erika Kelly the Northeast-10 Conference field hockey player of the week award.

The sophomore netted her first hat trick for Stonehill College against Bloomsburg University on Saturday and led her team to a 3-2 overtime win over the third-ranked team in NCAA Div. 2, according to the game report from Stonehill College.

On Sunday, Kelly went one better and scored four goals and led the 6-5 comeback win over No. 9 East Stroudsburg University. Two of the goals game just 2.5 minutes apart.

Last year, Kelly was third in scoring for the Skyhawks, with eight goals and two assists. Kelly played on three field hockey state championship teams at Watertown High School and twice was named the Boston Globe Scholastic Player of the Year.
