Children's Theatre Play Opens, School Renovations Discussed, Glitzy Glam Craft

Take a look at some of the events in Watertown this week.

"Into the Woods" at the Arsenal Center

The Watertown Children's Theatre presents Into the Woods, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by James Lapine, originally directed on Broadway by James Lapine with orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick, will be performed Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Black Box Theater, Arsenal Center for the Arts, Watertown. Tickets are $12 and are on sale through WCT’s website at watertownchildrenstheatre.org or by calling 1-800-838-3006. School Committee Discusses School Renovation

The School Committee's Buildings & Grounds Subcommittee will discuss possible school renovation projects to submit for state funding. The committee meets Monday at 6 p.m. in the Phillips Building, First Floor Conference Room, 30 Common St. in Watertown.

Watertown High School Sports

The Raiders boys' basketball team hosts Lexington on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The WHS ice hockey teams play a double header on Wednesday, with the boys playing Lexington at 4 p.m. at Ryan Skating Arena, and the girls take on Lexington at 6 p.m. Also on Wednesday, the wrestling team is in action against Wilmington at 7 p.m. On Friday, the boys' hockey team hosts Wakefield at 6:10 p.m. and the boys basketball team plays Wakefield at 7 p.m. The girls' hockey team plays Wakefield on Saturday at 12:20 p.m.

Glitzy Glam Crafts at the Watertown Library

Kids in grades 3-5 can make frilly bows and sparkly accessories, fit for a posh princess on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Registration is required. Visit the WFPL Children's Room or call 617-972-6435 to sign up.

Learn How to Download E-Books onto Your iPad

This course at the Watertown Free Library will go over how to upload an ebook from Overdrive onto your device. The class is Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required. You can either sign up in person at the Reference Desk or call 617-972-6436.
