Kindergarten Yoga

Jump! Stretch! Pose like animals! A children’s librarian will lead your kindergarteners in a brief introduction to yoga on Monday at the Watertown Free Public Library at 3:30 p.m. Mats are provided on a on a first-to-arrive basis. For ages 4 to 6. No registration.


Learn to Knit

The Watertown Library hosts a knitting class starting on Wednesday at noon. This class is free, but space is limited, so please register by January 8th at the Reference Desk or by calling 617-972-6436. See more by clicking here.


WHS Sports


The Watertown High School boys basketball team hosts Wilmington on Tuesday at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, the wrestling team takes on at Lynnfield/North Reading at 7 p.m. at WHS. Friday night at 7 p.m. the girls' basketball team hosts Melrose. On Saturday there is a hockey double header at Ryan Ice Arena, with the girls taking on Reading at 12:20 p.m. and the boys playing Reading at 2:20 p.m.

Household Sharps Collection Day

The Health Department will take household sharps on Saturday from
9 a.m.-noon in the parking lot behind Town Hall, 149 Main St. Proof of residency required. Find out what can and cannot be disposed of by clicking here.

See "Imagining Madoff" at the Arsenal Center

The New Repertory Theatre presents "Imagining Madoff" this week.  In the play, the audience witnesses imagined jail conversations between Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff and Solomon Galkin, a poet and Holocaust survivor. Get play tickets here. Shows are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
