Drive for the Troops, Kids Flag Football, Men's Open Basketball

Here's a look at some things going on in Watertown this weekend.

1. Zia Clothing is hosting a donation drive for Operation American Soldier, a Watertown-based group that sends care packages to military personnel overseas. Stop by the store at 91 Trapelo Road in Belmont, on Friday, Saturday and Monday and donate toiletry items and other items. See more at www.OperationAmericanSoldier.org.

2. The Recreation Department hosts flag football for grades 3-5 on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Moxley Field. The program will emphasize passing, receiving, kicking, defense and the rules of the game. The day will end with a scrimmage, Find out more here.

3. Independent readers can read to a certified therapy dog at the Watertown Library on Saturday at 2 p.m. For independent readers in grades K to 5. Registration is required - visit the Children's Room or call 617-972-6435 to sign up.

4. Head to the Watertown Middle School gym for men's open basketball on Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The program is for men 30 and over. See more info here.
