Holiday Concert at Perkins, Sen. Brownsberger Office Hours, Cape Breton Music

Take a look at some events going on in Watertown this weekend.

1. Perkins School for the Blind musicians will perform two holiday concerts for the entire community to enjoy. On Sunday at 3 p.m. or Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for seasonal classics, handbell ensembles, and cheerful music from around the world, including a Venezuelan Christmas carol in Spanish and a Chanukah song in Hebrew. 2. State Sen. Will Brownsberger will hold office hours from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, at the Cafe of the Public Library, 123 Main Street. All are welcome to during this time to discuss issues, ask for help in dealing with state agencies, or talk about any other topic of concern. Find out more here.

3. The Canadian American Club hosts an afternoon of Cape Breton style dance/concert with Janine Randall, Matt Petrie and Mike Kerr. Bring the whole family. The concert starts at 3 p.m. and the musicians will be holding a workshop for piano and fiddle from 2-3 p.m. Click here for more info.

4. Plymouth Church in Belmont hosts a Christmas Fair on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Includes sale of Community Helpings Cookbookto Benefit  Arlington, Watertown, Belmont, Waltham Food Pantries, Music from the Belmont High Madrigals, crafts, items for sale and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Find out more here.

5. Skip the coffee shop and make the Children’s Department part of your morning routine on Saturday beginning at 9:15 a.m. Come to the library for some coffee, a donut hole, and browse the newspaper while children explore books and color during our low-key morning program. See details here
