Mini Apple Stores Coming to Some Targets, No Word on Watertown

The store-within-a-stores are planned for 25 Target stores for areas that would not support a full-sized Apple Store. Watertown's Best Buy has an Apple Shop.

Mini Apple Stores will be moving into some Target stores around the country, reports AppleInsider, but no word whether Watertown's Target store will be one of the 25 locations. The goal is to move Apple into smaller metro areas, AppleInsider reports. Target has 1,752 stores, and is the second largest discount retail chain in the United States. Apple already has a space in the Best Buy in the Watertown Mall, the plaza where the Target is located. The Apple Shop inside the store sells Apple products and offers service through its Geek Squad tech support.

Creative Visionary Steve Jobs, Gone

The ex-Apple CEO affected the lives of millions of people. Did he touch yours?

Steve Jobs, whom CNN refers to as "the visionary in the black turtleneck,"  has died, says Apple, the company he co-founded and led. His creative drive is responsible for bringing the sleek elegance of iPhones, iPads and iPods to millions. MSNBC reports that Apple announced his death without giving a specific cause. He had been battling pancreatic cancer. Cupertino Patch says mourning has begun at Apple headquarters. Likewise, in the Twitterverse. The Boston Globe says he died only weeks after resigning his post as CEO of the company he co-founded as a 21-year old. Jobs was 56.
