Gov. Patrick Meets with Armenian Prime Minister, Discusses Armenian-Massachusetts Ties

Deval Patrick and Tigran Sargsyan met in the State House in and effort to strengthen relationships and celebrate Massachusetts' Armenian-American population.

The following information was provided by Gov. Deval Patrick's Office: Governor Deval Patrick today welcomed Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan to the Massachusetts State House. Prime Minister Sargsyan’s visit to Massachusetts served as an opportunity to foster Massachusetts’ global image in education and innovation and to recognize and celebrate the Armenian-American population in the Commonwealth. Massachusetts is home to approximately 33,095 Armenian-American residents, with Watertown having the third largest Armenian community in the nation, according to 2010 data. National Archives Hosts Talk on Armenian's Contributions to the Boston Area

Armenian Library and Museum of America curator Gary Lind-Sinanian will be the guest speaker at the Waltham facility on June 21.

The following information was provided by the National Archives in Waltham:  With its ancient and historic cultural heritage, Armenian culture, history, and immigration have contributed to the fabric of Greater Boston and the United States. Seeking refuge and opportunity, the fascinating stories of Armenian immigrants are both singular to this ethnic group and also universal for all immigrants.
