Two individuals will face charges for allegedly robbing banks in Waltham and Arlington on Jan. 8, according to State Police. Andrea Koutis, 30, of Arlington and Erik Stout, 35, of Somerville, will face charges for allegedly robbing the East Cambridge Savings Bank in Arlington and the Sovereign Bank on Trapelo Road in Waltham, according to State Police. They are also facing charges for attempting to flee State Police later in the day. The Massachusetts State Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating two individuals for their possible connection to two bank robberies on Jan. 8, including one in Waltham, according to State Police. State Police arrested two men on Jan. 8 after a short vehicle pursuit in Boston and later discovered evidence that could link them to the robberies of a Sovereign Bank in Waltham and East Cambridge Bank in Arlington, according to State Police. Watertown Police tracked the two alleged bank robbers to a hotel in Brockton.
Watertown Police detectives tracked down a Waltham couple suspected of robbing a Citizens Bank branch and placed them under arrest Monday afternoon. The man, identified as Justin W. O’Connell, 28, of Waltham, approached at teller at the bank inside the Stop & Shop on Pleasant Street shortly after 10 a.m. on Monday, showed a note asking for money and left the store. He tried to hide in the trunk of a car driven by the second suspect, Erin R. Aspinwall, 29, of Waltham, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The bank had a surprise for the robbers, however. Police seek a couple who reportedly robbed the Citizens Bank location inside the West End supermarket.
[UPDATE: 1:08 p.m.] Police continue to search for a man suspected of robbing the Citizens Bank branch inside the Stop & Shop on Pleasant Street. They received the initial call about the robbery at 10:11 a.m. on Monday, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. "Officers discovered a white male entered the store and displayed a note to the teller demanding cash," Lawn said. "An undisclosed amount of cash was given to the male. He fled the store, and was last observed heading toward North Street in Waltham." The suspect did not have a weapon and no one hurt during the incident, Lawn said. The man suspected of robbing the Belmont Savings Bank in Watertown Square on April 1, was held on no bail after a dangerousness hearing in Waltham District Court, Friday. Richard Bonet Jr., 25, of Worcester, was arrested by Boston Police on April 1 in an unrelated incident where he allegedly broke into a house in Roxbury. While being questioned, Boston Police found $2,690 in cash, brown money bands and a bank slip from Belmont savings bank, said Watertown Detective David MacNeil Friday in court. He also had a military identification card, drug paraphernalia, he said, and told Boston Police he uses heroin, but not within the three prior days. Man who allegedly robbed Belmont Savings Bank was arraigned in Waltham District Court Monday, but was not viewable by the public.
The man who allegedly robbed Belmont Savings Bank in Watertown Square on April 1 pleaded not guilty in Waltham District Court Monday afternoon. He will be held with no bail until Friday when he returns for a dangerousness hearing. Richard Bonet Jr., 25, of Worcester, faces charges of masked armed robbery and a false report of a bomb. He was arraigned in front of Judge Gregory Flynn, but was not visible to the public. Bonet's attorney, Arthur L. Kelly, won a motion to allow Bonet to sit behind a wall in the courtroom so his face could not be filmed. Flynn ordered Bonet held with no bail until Friday at 10 a.m. when he will return for a hearing to determine if he poses a danger to the public, and therefore what will be the conditions of bail…

Boston Police arrested a Worcester man when he tried to break into a home in Roxbury.
Boston Police officers arrested a 25-year old Worcester man who was attempting to break into a home, and they discovered he had a large amount of cash which They say he had gotten from the robbery of the Belmont Savings Bank in Watertown. At 10:33 a.m. Friday, a man went into the Belmont Savings branch at 53 Mt. Auburn St. and handed the teller a note saying he had a bomb in a bag he was carrying, said Watertown Lt. Michael Lawn. The man received an undisclosed amount of money, and then fled the bank. Police closed down the area around the plaza, on Mt.
