Bentley Students Making a Difference at B&G Club
Students from Bentley University's nationally recognized Service-Learning Program work at a number of different community service programs in their local community including the Watertown Boys & Girls Club.
Jacqueline Yen leaves the comforts of her Bentley University campus every Friday to volunteer her time with the children of the Watertown Boys and Girls Club. Some days she conducts water aerobic exercises, other days might find her organizing a tie-dying party – the activities are varied but the connection with the kids is a rewarding constant. "There is nothing greater than having a young kid look up to you as a role model," said Yen, a sophmore at Bentley. She plans and implements the "Torch Program" – a middle school-targeted leadership program charged with developing and leading Boy's and Girl's Club members in four main areas: physical fitness, education, community service, and social engagement.
