Schools Get Repairs, Now Hosmer Boiler Needs Work
School Officials invested nearly $200,000 into the schools over the summer. Now an unexpected cost has arisen when a boiler at Hosmer School sprang a leak.
The Watertown Public Schools planned nearly half a million in repairs to facilities and completed about $200,000 worth of work, but an unexpected expense arose when the boiler at Homer Elementary School began to fail. Director of Facilities and Transportation Jay Francione presented the district's capital improvement plan to the Town Council earlier this month. About $200,000 of the $500,000 of planned work on the schools was completed. The rest of the work either has not been completed or has been delayed.
