Boston College's Jerry York Becomes Winningest College Hockey Coach
The Watertown native got his 925th win Saturday against Alabama-Huntsville.
Boston College hockey coach Jerry York added another acclaim to his list of accomplishments Saturday night when the Watertown native became the winningest college hockey coach, ever. The Eagles' 5-2 win over Alabama-Huntsville, in a game played in Minneapolis, gave York his 925th coaching victory and eclipsed the previous record holder, former Michigan State coach Ron Mason. After the game, York told the Boston Globe that his focus is on his team, not the record. “Maybe when I sit down on some porch in 10 years thinking about it,’’ York told the Globe. “I’ve always been about team.
