The Raiders played to a 1-1 tie with Dover-Sherborn, and won the penalty shootout after goalie Greg Koutroukas saved one of the shots.
[NOTE: The scoring for Watertown's goal was updated on Nov. 19] Watertown's boys' soccer team has not done any favors to fans with heart conditions during its state tournament run. For the second straight state tournament game the Raiders took the game to a penalty shootout, and Wednesday night they won the shootout 5-3 over Dover-Sherborn to clinch a spot in the MIAA Div. 3 state final. The teams played an even, up-tempo game of soccer for 80 minutes of regulation, after which the game was tied 1-1. Two 10-minute periods of sudden death overtime did not settle matters, either, and it came down to spot kicks 12 yards from the goalie. The Raiders' boys' soccer and field hockey teams both take the field Wednesday seeking a spot in the state final.

Cacia credited his players…

Vardan Yeghiyan's hat trick leads the Raiders to a victory in the North Section semifinal on Saturday.
A blast by Watertown's Vardan Yeghiyan into the top corner of the goal ended any hope for Newburyport in the boys' soccer section semifinal and capped a hat trick for the junior striker Saturday afternoon at Lynn's Manning Field. The No. 6 seed Raiders' scored an historic victory, said Watertown coach Frank Cacia, as Watertown moved onto the MIAA North Section Div. 3 final. "At this stage it is whatever team wants it most. We've trained hard during the season, the boys worked their butts off in the off season," Cacia said. "I still believe we haven't peaked as a team. I still think we can get better in finishing the opportunities we had, but we just made history today making it to the finals." No. 10 seed Newburyport (11-7-2) pressured …
