Trial Date Set For Former Watertown Town Councilor Gus Bailey's Drug Case
Gus Bailey and his co-defendants in the marijuana distribution case may be moving to a jury trial in Boston Federal Court.
It appears former Watertown Town Councilor Thomas "Gus" Bailey will have his day in court as a date has been set for a jury trial in the federal drug case involving Bailey and his five co-defendants. Boston Federal Judge Ryan W. Zobel will preside over the trial, which is scheduled to start on May 13, 2013, according to federal court documents. The court date does not guarantee the case will actually go to trial, but is the first step in the process. The defendants could change their pleas to guilty and forgo a trial. Attorneys for Bailey and his co-defendants – Clay Gollobin, Eric Falzon, Mary Nicole Coman, Matthew Fox, Barbara Waldman – have until Jan. 30, 2013 to file motions to suppress in the case.
