The Watertown native will provide the voice of She-Hulk in "Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H."
Watertown's Eliza Dushku has joined the Marvel Comics Universe and will provide one of the voices in the new series "Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H." The series premiers on August 11 at 11 a.m., according to a report on USA Today online. The show will be on Disney XD, an online site where Disney features its shows. The animated series features The Hulk, and other superheros living under one roof and battling evil. Dushku provides the voice for She-Hulk, The Hulk's cousin. Seth Green plays the character A-Bomb. The Hollywood star will be at Brandeis University in Waltham in February to talk about THRIVE-Gulu.
Eliza Dushku will take time away from her television and film career to speak about one of her other passions – social justice in Uganda. The Watertown High School grad and her mother Judy, will speak at Brandeis University about THRIVE-Gulu, the non-governmental organization they founded in Uganda to address issues of child soldiers and sex slavery and other post-conflict issues. The WHS alumna will be part of the pilot for the TV series that will be co-produced by Roger Moore.
Eliza Dushku has signed on to co-star in the latest remake of "The Saint," this time a television series to be co-produced by Roger Moore. The Watertown native will co-star with Adam Rayner, according to a report on Deadline.com. The pilot will be directed by Simon West. The series has not yet been picked up by a network, Deadline reports. The Saint is based on a 70 book series, chronicling the exploits of Simon Templar (Rayner), a brilliant criminal who uses his considerable illicit skills as a modern-day Robin Hood as he infuriates local law enforcement and woos Patricia Holm (Dushku), his on-again, off-again romance, according to Deadline. Watertown's own Eliza Dushku visited the Boston area recently and held a fundraiser in Quincy.
Eliza Dushku returned to the Boston area to raise a few bucks for her upcoming movie, "Albania." The Watertown native attended the event at Alba Restaurant in Quincy with her boyfriend and former NBA player Rick Fox, the Boston Globe reports. Dushku's latest project is a documentary about her family's homeland of Albania. She has been raising money from supporters via the internet site Kickstarter.com. She toured the country that has recently transitioned from communist rule to a more democratic government, and met some of the most important political figures and entertainers. The Watertown native has raised more than one-third of the $60,000 she seeks to make her movie about her family's homeland, Albania.
Actress Eliza Dushku is looking for a little help from her friends to help her make a movie about Albania, her family's homeland. The Watertown High School graduate has raised more than $20,000 of her target of $60,000 goal on the website Kickstarter.com. The movie, called "Albania" documents her travels in the nation that sits on the Adriatic Sea between Greece and Montenegro. Recently, Dushku toured Albania with her brother Nate, boyfriend and former NBA player Rick Fox, and others, according to her page on Kickstarter.com. Actress and Watertown-native Eliza Dushku chatted with New York Magazine about growing up as a Mormon, and her bishop when she was young – Mitt Romney. Dushku said she is no longer "very Mormon" in the piece that ran in this month's New York Magazine. She said she has problems with the Mormon Church's stand on some issues, including women's rights – an issue over which her mother, Judy Dushku, often clashed with Romney, according to the article. Watertown's own Eliza Dushku will be a special guest star on Tuesday's episode of the USA Network's show "White Collar." In the episode, called "On the Fence," Dushku plays Raquel LaRoque, an exotic and beautiful Egyptologist who the show's star Matt Bomer (who plays Neal Caffrey) must woo in order to locate and catch his archnemesis, according to the Hollywood Reporter. This won't be the first time Dushku and Bomer share the screen, the Hollywood Reporter found. The two worked together on Fox's supernatural drama "Tru Calling," which lasted from 2003-05.
