Former Watertown Police Sergeant Faces Charges of Using a Fake Prescription

The retired member of the police department allegedly tried to get prescription drugs from a Marlborough pharmacy with a forged prescription.

A retired Watertown police sergeant found himself in court facing charges that he forged a prescription to get drugs.  In December, Joseph F. Deignan, 58 of Framingham, was arrested for allegedly used a forged prescription for hydrocodone - a synthetic opioid used to relieve pain - at a pharmacy in Marlborough, said Middlesex District Attorney's office spokeswoman Stephanie Guyotte. Deignan retired from the Watertown Police Department last year. Deignan appeared in Marlborough District Court last week for a pre-trial conference. He will be back in court on March 29, according to a report on Wicked Local Watertown. The pharmacist at the CVS on East Main Street in Marlborough had been warned of people trying to pass false prescriptions, …
