Watertown Students Named to Dean's List at 3 Colleges, Another graduates from Drexel

Watertown Students Honored by Their Colleges, Graduate from High School

A Watertown native was honored by his department at UMass-Lowell, two made the dean's list at Providence College and one graduated from BC High School.

Three Watertown students earned honors this spring at their college, and another graduated from high school: Outstanding Student Christopher J. Kelly of Watertown was honored during UMass Lowell's commencement ceremonies. Kelly was the recipient of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology’s Undergraduate Outstanding Student Award. Dean's List Two Watertown residents made the dean's list at Providence College this spring. Kathleen McGreal a member of the class of 2015, and Joanna Sbordone a member of the Class of 2012. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least a 3.55 grade point average with a minimum of 12 credits. 50th High School Reunion Reconnects Classmates and Rekindles Memories

Our 50th high school reunion was held on Oct 2, 2010. Reconnecting in-person is one of those events that you look forward to that actually exceeds expectations. Those who couldn’t make it missed a great time.

Life is funny. If you had asked me in 1960 if I thought I'd  be going to my 50th High school reunion, I might have answered sarcastically, "Sure, and some day, men will walk on the moon!" At that point, I was more concerned with the immediate decision whether to enlist in the military or to attend (now-defunct) Newton Jr. College – the only school that would accept me. Young people tend to live in the moment of now, not in the far-flung future.  Yet, the future has a way of sneaking up on you.  After a four year stint in the Air Force, I enrolled at Northeastern University, and graduated in 1968 (to the delight and astonishment of my parents). American astronauts walked on the moon in July 1969. And, yes, a few weeks ago, I did go to my …
