The employee allegedly stole cash from the register.
Security at Home Depot suspected an employee was stealing money, and they spotted him allegedly grabbing cash from the register. Watertown Police were called in to the store on March 21 at 5:16 p.m. to deal with the man from West Roxbury who was caught stealing money, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. "They had been watching an employee stealing cash out of the register. They saw him take a $100 bill and place it in his apron," Lawn said. "The suspect he was doing it over a five to six week period. The suspect admited to taking approximately $5,000 in cash." Abdullha M. Kiani, 20, of 119 Fletcher St. in West Roxbury, was arrested on a charge of larceny of over $250, Lawn said.

The man tried to switch price tags on a power tool, but was caught. He ran from store security and ran into Brighton.
A man who tried to shoplift at Home Depot on Aug. 19 at 3:57 p.m. ran away from security before police arrived and eluded search efforts by Watertown and State police. Home Depot security spotted a man in his 40s switch the price tag on a $279 Makita LXT Hammer Drill with an item tha has a pricetag of $6.43 and went to the self-checkout aisle to pay for it, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady. Security spotted him and asked to talk to him. “Security was escorting the man back to the office and he got up and pushed past two security guards and fled the store,” Grady said. “He ran across the bridge (on Arsenal Street) into Brighton before he could be apprehended.” Watertown Police called in assistance from the Massachusetts State Police…

Retailers are upping the ante this Black Friday with bigger deals and longer store hours, but pollsters and economists disagree over the extent to which consumer spending will follow suit.
In an effort to lure more shoppers through their doors, retailers in and around Watertown are raising the stakes this Black Friday with bigger deals and longer store hours than last year. Both the Target at Watertown Mall and The Home Depot at Arsenal Mall will open an hour earlier than they did last year, at 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. respectively. Outside the town, Kohl's stores will open at 3 a.m. and Walmarts at midnight. Moreover, retailers are driving up their door-buster deals: Target is offering 25 time-sensitive specials on Friday, up from 11 last year – although these are dwarfed by Kohl's 400 early-bird bargains, 100 more than last year, which will run for an extra hour.
