John Airasian received the Charles Mosesian Award for his work for Watertown, which includes revamping the Watertown Arsenal.
Last month, the town came together to celebrate the work of "Mr. Watertown" - John Airasian - who has devoted many years to his hometown, including helping to transform the Watertown Arsenal. On April 9, Airasian received the Charles Mosesian Award, for being a "a local supporter of all things Watertown," according to the Arsenal Center for the Arts, which hosted the celebration. The Watertown Arsenal had been a U.S. Army facility before being turned into an area that is home to businesses, restaurants and the Arsenal Center for the Arts. The evening, which celebrated in '60s style, was dubbed "Motown, Miniskirts and the Moonlanding." A man who has been involved in many aspects of life in Watertown will be honored for his work supporting the Arsenal Center for the Arts on April 9. John Airasian, known as "Mr. Watertown," will be honored with the 2013 Charles Mosesian Award for Support of the Arts at the Arsenal Center on Tuesday, April 9 at 6 p.m. The award goes to an individual who exemplifies Mosesian's commitment to the the community, the arts and the Arsenal Center, according to an announcement from the Arsenal Center. Eastern Clothing outfitted the newly-elected congressman for his big day.
When Congressman-elect Joe Kennedy III tied the knot last month, he donned a suit made in Watertown. Kennedy married Lauren Birschfield on Dec. 3 in Corona del Mar, Calif., just a month after being elected to his first term as congressman for the 4th Congressional District. John Airasian and his son John met Red Sox Manager Bobby Valentine at a luncheon hosted by Boston's Mayor Menino.
New Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine impressed Watertown's John Airasian and his son John when they met the new skipper on Jan. 30 at a luncheon hosted by Boston Mayor Tom Menino. The senior Airasian said he thinks Valentine will fit in well in the Hub. "He was great. He is a real personality – good looking, very well dressed, well spoken and seemed raring to go," said Airasian, who also met new general manager Ben Cherington. I asked Valentine where he got the suit Charlie, he told me it was gratis from Airasian. Bobby thought it was funny that John called him "a good looking guy" He wondered if it was him or the suit. If you don't believe me ask Bobby or John.   more ›
