PTO members thank donors in the latest fund raising event for the Lowell Elementary School.
To all of our auction participants, donors and attendees: Thank you for your generous donation used in our 7 Wishes for $7000 campaign for the J.R. Lowell Elementary School. We are amazed and honored at the outpouring of donations given to us by many businesses, and the excitement and enthusiasm from our bidders. Our online auction and live event was a huge success, with over $11,600 raised! The online auction had over 30,000 page views, 115 participants, and 730 bids. We are now able to fulfill our 7 wishes of: In addition, we are in the process of determining additional wishes to be fulfilled. We plan on spending every penny! The school started collecting books to add to libraries in the school's classrooms.
[Updated Jan. 7, 2013 at 7:55 a.m.] Lowell School's PTO kicked off a book drive on Thursday, but before it even officially got going the school already had a health set of donations. The books collected will go to enhance the classroom libraries at Lowell, according to the Lowell School PTO's Facebook page. The response so far has been strong. "The Lowell School Book Drive hasn't even officially started and we already have about 600 books. Books can be dropped off at the school starting January 3rd, and a box will be setup right at the Main Entrance to drop your books in. The J.R. Lowell Elementary School PTO of Watertown, MA is pleased to announce the start of its “6 Wishes for $6,000” campaign. I think the parents should donate some time and effort to help with the landscaping at the schools. Maybe the town could provide the supplies and get a lanscaping plan and clean up the schools.   more ›
