The following information was provided by MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home: Funeral services will be held on Monday Nov. 26, 2012 for Andrea Lynn Soloman. Ms. Soloman passed away on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 21, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. A daughter of the late Richard C. and Sylvia A. (McDonald) Faherty. Andrea grew up in Watertown, attended Watertown schools and graduated Watertown High School class of 1988. In 1992 she graduated from North Adams State College with a BA in psychology, received a Master’s in early intervention from Wheelock College in 1995 and was certified as an Early Intervention Specialist in August 2008. Michael McGovern, 60, died on July 16.
Former Waltham assistant principal and Watertown coach Michael F. McGovern died this week, according to his obituary posted on the Joyce Funeral Home website. McGovern died at his home in Manomet on July 16. He was 60. McGovern retired from the Waltham Public School system two years ago after a long career. He previously served as the assistant principal of the John W. McDevitt Middle School. He also taught at the McDevitt School, as well as the former South middle school and Henry J. Whittemore Elementary School. McGovern also coached several athletic teams including hockey and football at Waltham High School and Watertown High School, according to his obituary. He also served as the head hockey coach at Newton South High School. …
