Arrests May 3, 1:01 a.m.: An officer patrolling in Watertown Square spotted a car on North Beacon Street make an erratic turn against the light and when the officer pulled the vehicle over a strong odor of alcohol was detected on the driver's breath, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady. Field sobriety tests were given and an arrest was made. Eric John Potvin, 44, of 94 Buff St. in Salem, N.H., was booked on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and two counts of failing to stop or yield. Arrests March 30, 11:44 p.m.: A Lexington St. resident heard a bang and when he came out he found that someone had hit a parked and unoccupied car, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Police arrived and found the driver had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Field sobriety tests were performed, and police arrested Jesse Knapp-Stumpp, 26, of 47 Standish Road in Cambridge, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
