Runners Enjoy Warm Day for the Annual Donohue's Turkey Trot in Watertown on Thanksgiving Morning

Hundreds of runners and walkers tackled the 5K race sponsored by Donohue's Bar and Grill and benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Watertown.

  A warm and sunny late November morning greeted the hundreds of runners, walkers and Watertown residents looking to burn a few calories at the 7th annual Turkey Trot, Thursday morning.  The annual event sponsored by Donohue's Bar and Grill benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Watertown. The fastest time was turned in by Kerwin Vega of Allston, with a time of 16:06.  The day also included a kids' race around the block near Donohue's Bar and Grill.

Runners Can Sign Up for the Annual Turkey Trot in Watertown on Thanksgiving Morning

Donohue's Bar and Grill hosts the seventh annual run, which raises money for the Watertown Boys and Girls Club.

The following information was provided by the organizers of the Turkey Trot: Runners and walkers can register now for the 7th Annual Turkey Trot!  Last year we raised just over $7000 for the Watertown Boys and Girls Club from the race! The 5K race begins at Donohue's Bar and Grill, 87 Bigelow Ave. in Watertown, on Thursday, November 22 at 8:30 am. Walkers are welcome. Free breakfast served for all who attend. (Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries). Long Sleeve shirt to all registered participants. LETTER TO THE EDITOR: John Donohue Thanks Participants in the Turkey Trot

The 5K run on Thanksgiving morning raised nearly $7,000 for the Watertown Boys and Girls Club.

Thanksgiving Day morning marked the sixth running of the Donohue's Bar and Grill 5K Turkey Trot raising close to $7,000 to benefit the Watertown Boys and Girls Club. The race began at Donohue's Bar and Grill at 8:30 a.m. It was immediately followed by a Kids Fun Run for children under the age of Ten. This year's trot attracted over 670 registered runners and walkers who raced through the streets of Watertown. The course of the race took runners from Bigelow Ave. to Arsenal St. towards the square, up Mt. Auburn Street and back to Donohue's Bar and Grill to the finish line. Two Ways to Shed Some Pounds in Watertown to get Ready for Thanksgiving Dinner

Run the 5K Turkey Trot at Donohue's Bar and Grill or join in the Thanksgiving Day bootcamp at Arsenal Park.

If you anticipate putting on a few pounds on Thanksgiving, there are a couple opportunities to work off the calories in Watertown before the big meal. Turkey Trot On Thanksgiving Day, Donohue’s Bar and Grill hosts the annual 5K Turkey Trot to benefit the Watertown Boys and Girls Club. The race begins at 8:30 a.m., sharp, rain or shine (or snow). Awards will be given for first place overall male and female, and for the first male and females in the following age groups: 15 & under, 16 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 and over. There is also a Clydesdale division for any male weighing over 215 pounds. You can pre-register for the race online, or on the day of the race beginning at 7 a.m. The entry fee is $20 for pre-race day…
