Watertown Square Lights Up with Holiday Spirit

The first annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony featured a tree decorated for the season and a visit from Santa Claus.

  In the middle of the rush hour buzz in Watertown Square, the holiday spirit suddenly shone through Thursday evening when a tree decorated for the Holidays illuminated with colorful lights.  The tree lighting ceremony sponsored by the Watertown Belmont Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Watertown was the first of what could become an annual tradition in town.  Dozens of children and their parents were joined by town officials and local business owners for the ceremony.  Before the lights went on, a special guest showed up on a Watertown Fire engine. Sen. Scott Brown Coming to Speak to the Watertown Belmont Chamber of Commerce

Massachusett's junior senator will be at the Belmont Country Club on Sept. 28.

Sen. Scott Brown will speak at a breakfast sponsored by the Watertown Belmont Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 28. The Republican senator will be at the Belmont Country Club at an event sponsored by Watertown Savings Bank, said Brenda Fanara the chamber's executive director. “We are honored and privileged to have a United States Senator speaking to our chamber about the current environment,” Fanara said in a release. Brown won a special election to fill the seat fomerly occupied by the late-Ted Kennedy, and he serves on the Senate Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, and the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
