Jewelry Stolen from 2 Watertown Homes During Daylight Break Ins

A burglar broke into two homes on Fayette Street after the break ins.

A burglar broke into two homes on Fayette Street in Watertown and made off with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.  On Jan. 29 at 6:46 p.m. the resident of a home on Fayette Street near Whites Avenue called police to report that someone had pried open the front door and stole $3,000 worth of jewelry, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.  Police also heard from the resident of the other side of the two-family home also discovered that the window on the front door was broken and $20,000 worth of jewelry was taken, Lawn said. The same day, police received a call about a potential suspect, Lawn said. Norsman Avenue Home Broken Into While Resident Watches TV

Burglar got in through a back window and stole jewelry and other items.

A burglar broke in to a home on Norsman Avenue and stole a woman’s pocketbook and jewelry while she was in the kitchen watching television. The Norsman Avenue resident told police sometime between 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on April 22, someone broke into her home and stole the items, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. “Someone cut the screen on a back window, went into the bedroom and removed a pocketbook and jewelry,” Lawn said. “She found a chair under the window.” Near the chair, the resident found her empty pocketbook and empty jewelry boxes, Lawn said. Police ask anyone who saw a suspicious person in the area to contact the Watertown Police Department at 617-972-6500.

Two Watertown Houses Broken into While Residents were Home

A burglar broke into one West Side home and tried to get into another.

Watertown Police warn residents to lock their doors and windows after burglars targeted two West Side homes last week, both while the residents were home. On March 19, a Main Street resident found that someone had cut a window screen and gotten into her home, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. "A man went to check on his mother and discovered a door was open," Lawn said.  Someone had propped a 2 x 4 piece of wood near a window and outside the man found his sister's purse on the lawn and $7 was missing Lawn said. His mother and sister had been asleep at the time of the burglary.
