Suspect Escapes Police in Watertown Chase

Police were unable to locate the suspect who had been driving a stolen car.

A suspect involved in a car chase through Watertown on Dec. 18 escaped police, according to police. At around 10:51 a.m., Watertown Poice received word that Belmont Police had been pursuing a stolen car which had entered Watertown, according to Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.  The car, a 2002 Ford Explorer entered Watertown on Hovey Street, then down Orchard Street and onto Marioan Road, Lawn said. The suspect dumped the car at Marion Road next to Victory Field and fled into the woods. Watertown Police, with assistance from a State Police K-9 unit, searched for the suspect, but were unable to locate him, lawn said.

Police Reportedly Searching For Chase Suspect Who Dumped Car in Watertown

The car was reportedly dumped at Victory Field.

Police are searching for a suspect who dumped a stolen a vehicle at Victory Field in Watertown, according to Twitter reports. The suspect reportedly dumped the car at the field after a chase that took him from Belmont into Watertown, according to Twitter user @alertnewengland. State Police are using a K-9 dog in the search.
