The Watertown Town Democratic Committee held its caucus to select delegates for the convention in July.
Twenty-one Watertown residents will help shape the priorities of the Democratic Party in Massachusetts as delegates to the state convention. The delegates were selected at the Watetown Democratic Town Caucus, and will head to Lowell in July for the convention. “At our 2013 convention, these delegates selected by Watertown Democrats will debate and adopt our platform for the next four years, catch up and network with other organizers around the Commonwealth and hear from some exciting future leaders of our party,” said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh in a release. Delegates will be elected for the state convention at the caucus rescheduled because of the blizzard.
The Watertown Democratic Town Committee will host the rescheduled town caucus on Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Watertown Free Public Library, announced Steve Owen, chairman of the Democratic Town Committee. Originally scheduled for Feb. 10, the caucus had to be postponed because of the Blizzard of 2013. At the caucus, delegates for the Massachusetts Democratic Convention will be elected. The town committee also seeks high school students interested in participating in a Youth Convention. The following information was sent out by the Watertown Town Democratic Committee: On Saturday, Feb. 11, Democrats in Watertown held a caucus to elect delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s 2012 endorsing convention in Springfield this June.
