Thanks to those who "Liked" Watertown Patch on Facebook. Watertown gained more followers than Belmont Patch.
The Thanksgiving Clash between Watertown and Belmont has not started, but Watertown can already claim a victory! Watertown Patch gained more "Likes" on Facebook than Belmont Patch in the Facebook contest, which ran through midnight on Thanksgiving Eve. Watertown won by a margin of 42 to 29 in the contest that started on Oct. 12. The battle is not over, however, because Belmont Patch continues to have more followers, with 441 compared to Watertown's 402. Go to Watertown Patch's Facebook page an "like" us!

Patch blogs cover a variety of issues, and this week bloggers touched on a former Boston Celtic's struggle with drugs, how to do a quick sale on a house and about the American health care system. Watertown High School recently received a visit from former Celtic's player Chris Herren, who talk to students about his struggle with drug abuse and how it hurt his career and family. Melanie St. Pierre of the Watertown Youth Coalition wrote about the visit in this blog. Real estate agent Hans Brings provided tips to people looking at making a quick sale on a home. Entertainment Specialist Selected to Produce Atrium School’s 30th Anniversary Event. Lolo Event Design is pleased to announce it has been selected to plan the Atrium School's 30th Anniversary event this fall. The much anticipated event will be a combined 30th celebration reunion and fall festival for alumni, students, and families of the Atrium School. "Seasonal Relief" Exhibit. Watertown artist Leslie Evans is exhibiting linoleum cut relief prints at the Habitat Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in Belmont during the month of October. Patch blogs cover a variety of issues, and this week bloggers touched on grants for teachers to cleaning gutters Kelly Cronin, who normally writes about Watertown Savings Bank, blogged about the recent Watertown Education Foundation grant kick-off party, held at Perkins School for the Blind. The group, which raises money throughout the year, handed out $20,000 to Watertown teachers to do projects they would not be able to do afford to do.
