Head Out to Victory Field for Some Fun This Week

The Recreation Department has opened the field this weekend and after school this week.

  Come on out to Victory Field for some fun on the new artificial turf field. The Recreation Department announced the field is open for use by all Watertown Residents. The field will be available on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday to Friday, this week, from 3 p.m. to dusk.

Do You Like the Improvements Planned for the 552 Main Street Park?

Some neighbors oppose adding a hard court area and other things to the park behind the new police station.

Neighbors of the old Browne School Playground made what could be their final pleas to limit the number of changes to be made to the park behind the new Police Station at Tuesday’s Town Council meeting. The Recreation Department has plans to add a multi-purpose hard court, a children’s play structure and a water spray area to the park at 552 Main Street, said Recreation Director Peter Centola. He hopes to start work on the project this spring. Some neighbors, including those who attended the Town Council meeting, say the changes will ruin what is now a nice little piece of green space in their neighborhood. Registration Open for Watertown Recreation's Summer Programs

The Recreation Department offers a range of activities for students from kindergarten through high school.

The Watertown Recreation Department offers programs for all ages, including tennis lessons, fashion design and boating and sailing. Registration for the Recreation Department's summer programs is open, and can be completed online or at the Recreation office in Town Hall. Registration information is available on the Town's Website by going to the Online Payment Section in the Document Center Staff recommends registering as soon as possible, because space is limited and will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Registration must be done before the program starts. Programs available this summer are:

Victory Field Open to Watertown Residents Everyday this Week

See the schedule sent out by the Watertown Recreation Department for open play times at Victory Field.

The Watertown Recreation Department sent out the following information: The Turf at Victory Feild will be open to the general public this week on the following dates and times. Please join us!! Monday, April 16: 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 18: 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday,  April 19: 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 20: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Please remember to abide by the Victory Field Guidelines as required by the manufacturers of our Artificial Turf. The Town of Watertown has a eight year warranty with the company, which can be voided if we do not follow the requirements.
