Watertown Republicans Endorse Candidate for State GOP Chairman

The town committee voted to support Rick Green to lead the Massachusetts State Republican Committee.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Republican Town Committee: On January 31, 2013, the State Committee once again will vote to elect a third State Chair in a since 2009. Save a few bright spots, the MA-GOP has suffered consistent electoral defeats and shrinking party registration for decades. Hence we find ourselves at an important crossroad. The single most pressing question for the State Committee is whether or not to continue the same old failed policies that allows one high profile candidate at the top of the ticket to install his or her person as Chairman of the State Party.  It is the opinion of the Watertown Republican Committee that we must abandon the aforementioned policy. Republicans Candidates Stress Making Mass. Business Friendly, Cutting State Spending

GOP candidates for the Massachusetts House of Representatives and State Senate gathered in Watertown on Monday night.

The Republican hopefuls running for state representative and state senate stressed the need to make Massachusetts more business friendly and to cut spending by the Legislature, during a candidates night in Watertown. The GOP candidates met supporters Monday night at a meet the candidates event at the Marine Corp League's Shutt Detachment. Steve Aylward of Watertown, who recently was elected Republican State Committee Man, said he wants to stress the values of the Republican Party. He is running for the Second Suffolk and Middlesex State Senate seat, which represents Watertown, Belmont and parts of Boston, including parts of Allston, Brighton, the Back Bay and the Fenway. GOP Town Committee Endorses Aylward for State Committeeman

The Watertown Republicans threw their support behind Steve Aylward for the position that helps decide the party's priorities and direction in Massachusetts.

The Watertown Republican Town Committee unanimously voted to endorse Steven Aylward for the position of Second Suffolk and Middlesex State Committeeman. Aylward faces Watertown's Robert Semonian, the incumbent, for the position of Republican State Committeeman and the election will take place during the Massachusetts Presidential Primary on March 6. "Steve Aylward has served as Watertown Republican Town Committee Chairman for the past 9 years," the Republican Town Committee wrote in a release. Watertown's Semonian Launches Campaign for GOP State Committeeman

Robert Semonian seeks reelection to the Massachusetts Republican State Committee.

Watertown's Robert A. Semonian will seek another term as the Republican State Committeeman for the Second Suffolk and Middlesex district, which includes Watertown, Belmont and parts of Boston. During his time on as a committeeman he has served as chairman of Ethnic Outreach for the Massachusetts Republican Party, according to an article on PanArmenian.net. “I am most proud of the policy and program initiatives that have proven important to the state Party’s outreach to the recruitment and training of dozens of qualified candidates who have represented the Republican Party with integrity, can-do spirit and electoral success," Semonian said in the article. Unofficial Results, Aylward carries Watertown by 385 votes beating Semonian nearly 2 to 1 in some precincts. He also carries Belmont by 176 votes, at my last count Semonian only carried one precinct in Belmont.
