Trial Date Set For Former Watertown Town Councilor Gus Bailey's Drug Case

Gus Bailey and his co-defendants in the marijuana distribution case may be moving to a jury trial in Boston Federal Court.

It appears former Watertown Town Councilor Thomas "Gus" Bailey will have his day in court as a date has been set for a jury trial in the federal drug case involving Bailey and his five co-defendants.  Boston Federal Judge Ryan W. Zobel will preside over the trial, which is scheduled to start on May 13, 2013, according to federal court documents.  The court date does not guarantee the case will actually go to trial, but is the first step in the process. The defendants could change their pleas to guilty and forgo a trial. Attorneys for Bailey and his co-defendants – Clay Gollobin, Eric Falzon, Mary Nicole Coman, Matthew Fox, Barbara Waldman – have until Jan. 30, 2013 to file motions to suppress in the case. Gus Bailey Back in Court After Allegedly Assaulting Ex-Girfriend and Co-Defendant in Drug Case

The former Watertown Town Councilor faces federal drug conspiracy charges linked to a warehouse in Waltham where he allegedly grew marijuana.

Former Watertown Town Councilor Thomas “Gus” Bailey was back in Boston Federal Court Monday after being arrested on an assault and battery he allegedly committed on an ex-girlfriend and co-defendant in the marijuana distribution case in which he is charged. Federal Court Judge Robert B. Collings released Bailey on a $25,000 bond after changing the conditions of his release to restrict Bailey from entering Essex County, where co-defendant Mary Coman now lives. The pair has a son, but he no longer resides with Coman, according to Federal Court documents. The court ordered Bailey not to have any contact with Coman. Three Plead Not Guilty To New Charges in Former Town Councilor's Pot-Growing Case

Former-Watertown Town Councilman Thomas "Gus" Bailey is charged with laundering money in the pot-growing ring he was allegedly running in Waltham.

Three people charged with money laundering in connection with the alleged Waltham pot-growing ring pleaded not guilty on at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse in Boston on July 13, according to court documents. Former Watertown Town Councilor Thomas "Gus" Bailey and his ex-wife, Barbara Waldman, both pleaded not guilty to new charges of money laundering, according to court documents. Bailey also pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to manufacture as well as distributing marijuana.  Eric Falzon, of Newton, also pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute marijuana.  The money laundering charges were recently filed against Bailey, Waldman, and two other defendants.  Waldman and Bailey are scheduled for another court appearance at 3…

Former Watertown Town Councilor Thomas "Gus' Bailey is facing additional charges for money laundering in connection with the marijuana growing operation he and several others are accused of running, according to federal court documents. Bailey now faces a new charge of laundering the proceeds of the marijuana operation, according to court documents. His ex-wife, Barbara Waldman, is facing the same charge along two other defendants, Matthew Fox and Nicole Coman. Feds Arrest Gus Bailey's Ex-Wife on Money Laundering Charges

The ex-wife of the former Town Councilor who faces drug charges was arrested for alleged money laundering.

Federal authorities arrested three more people in connection to the drug case involving former Watertown Town Councilor Gus Bailey, including his ex-wife. Barbara Waldman, of Watertown, was one of three people arrested Wednesday. Watertown Police confirmed that Bailey's ex-wife was arrested. Pot Growing Suspect Claimed He Was 'Business Consultant' On Tax Forms

New affidavit reveals details on alleged pot growing operation.

He described himself as a business consultant on his tax forms, but a newly-released affadavit reveals that Watertown's Thomas “Gus" Bailey went to great lengths to hide his alleged marijuana operation. The affidavit, filed in a federal court in Boston by Framingham Police Officer Matthew Gutwill who was working with Drug Enforcement Administration, reveals many more details about Bailey’s alleged growing operation. Bailey, of Waltham, Eric Falzon, of Newton and  Clay Gollobin of Brookline, face federal charges for allegedly growing marijuana in a warehouse in Waltham. Gus Bailey's Drug Case Being Moved to Federal Court

The former Watertown Town Councilor and his two co-defendants were led off in handcuffs to be arraigned in Boston Federal Court.

Former Town Councilor Thomas "Gus" Bailey came to Waltham District Court Tuesday morning for a court hearing but left in handcuffs, headed for Boston Federal Court. Bailey, 49, and co-defendants Clay Gollibin, 42, of Brookline and Eric Falzon, 43, of Newton face a slew of drug charges after police raided a warehouse on Lexington Street in Waltham where they allegedly were growing and selling marijuana. The three men appeared in Waltham District Court Tuesday for a probable cause hearing, but the prosecutor with the Middlesex District Attorney's office told Judge Gregory Flynn that they would seek a non prosequitur in the case — ruling for the defendants when the plaintiff failed to take the necessary steps in an action within the time …

Watertown Man Busted with 7 Pounds of Marijuana, Other Drugs

Watertown Police arrested a Chester Street man for intent to distribute marijuana.

Watertown Police arrested a 33-year-old Watertown man after they found 7 pounds of marijuana, as well as LSD and Extasy in his Chester Street home. Police received a search warrant for 9 Chester Street after an investigation in which Watertown worked with the Framingham Police and the U.S. Postal Service, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. They served the warrant on Oct. 29 at 1:23 a.m. "Officers located approximately 7 pounds of marijuana packaged in a variety of packaging, and small amounts of LSD and Exctasy," Lawn said. Watertown Man Caught with Briefcase Full of Marijuana

State Police caught the man and his partner when they stopped a taxi on Rte. 3 in Hingham for a defective license-plate light.

State Police discovered a suitcase full of marijuana on early Thursday morning when they pulled over a taxi on Rte. 3 in Hingham, leading to the arrest of two men, including a Watertown resident. State Troopers pulled over a 2009 Toyota Camry taxi cab at 3:11 a.m. because it had a defective license-plate light and changed lanes without signalling, according to a report released by the State Police.
