School Committee May Have Only Contested Race in Watertown Election

Clyde Younger said he will not run for Town Council, leaving all the council races uncontested.

The deadline for candidates to enter the race for town offices is Thursday, July 28, and it appears the only contested race in the Novermber Town Election may be for School Committee. Veteran Watertown politician Clyde Younger appears to be out of the race for Town Council. He had pulled papers to run for either Council President or District D Councilor, but he told the Watertown Tab this week that he would not be running for the council. As of Tuesday at 11 a.m., Town Council President Mark Sideris is the only candidates for that position. Watertown Election Heating Up as Clyde Younger Pulls Papers for a Council Run

Former Town Council President may run for president or the District D seat.

The District D spot will be open because John Lawn will vacate the seat to focus on being…

With John Lawn's District D seat open next year, who will replace the newly elected state representative?

The District D Town Council seat will be vacant after John Lawn's term is up at the end of the year. Lawn won the 10th Middlesex State Representative seat in the May 10 special election to replace Peter Koutoujian. His departure leaves a seat with no incumbent. One former member who lives in the West End, Paul Fahey, had been mulling over a run, but this week announced he would not enter the race. Fahey is working on a doctorate in public administration, which he said he needs to make his focus. Who will be running for the District D seat? Or, any of the seats – all of them are up for election in November. Here is Fahey's letter: Dear Editor: I am writing to let your readers from West Watertown know that I will not be a candidate for the …
